Upcoming Classes & Workshops
See below for a list of upcoming classes and workshops.
Dates: 7 Sundays (September 13th - November 1st)
Time: 9am - 12pm (MST)
Location: Zoom
This 7-week online workshop is dedicated to helping playwrights refine their dramatic skills, develop new work, and/or workshop plays already in progress. Each session, writers have pages read and discussed by both the cohort and the instructor. Additionally, writing prompts/exercises are provided to help students generate new material and spur creativity; those same exercises and prompts can be applied to existing work, to help jumpstart writers on work they feel has stalled. Whether you want to develop a new play, workshop a piece in progress, or bring in a play for a tune-up, there are tools and exercises available to you. All levels welcome.
The Next Words & Silence: Playwriting Workshop Begins on September 13th.
Dates: 6 Thursdays (September 2nd - October 7th)
Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Location: Lifelong Learning Center (310 S Curtis St, Missoula, MT 59801)
Since the very beginning, we’ve sat around the fire and told one another stories. The fundamental need to share our experiences is intrinsic to the human condition. This generative, workshopped-based class provides you with the skills, techniques, and confidence necessary to share your true-life, personal stories with an audience. Each week, you will receive a story prompt, and students will share and workshop the stories in class. Sessions will be an even mix of storytelling, group discussion, and an assortment of exercises, all geared towards building trust and confidence, strengthening storytelling technique and ability, and offering a safe space for people to share their lived experiences. Ideal for fellow storytellers, writers of all kinds, and anyone who desires to strengthen their public speaking skills. We all have a story. This class will help you to tell it.
